October’s discussion will focus on The Cuckoo’s Calling, the first book in the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith. Modestly selling initially, this book became a #1 bestseller once the author’s true identity was revealed: Robert Galbraith is the pseudonym for J.K. Rowling. Unlike the Harry Potter series, the Cormoran Strike novels aren’t for kids, but according to one reviewer, The Cuckoo’s Calling is a witty, twisty mystery…masterfully plotted.” To another, it is “a brilliant achievement, mordantly funny and monumentally absorbing.”
