November Meeting: The Benefits of Writing Conferences (Panel Discussion)

“Writing can be a solitary pursuit.” “Writing is a lonely business.” “Writers live in their heads.” We’ve all heard some version of this idea. But the truth is that writers need to reach out to other writers, members of the publishing industry, and other experts in order to improve their craft and learn how to maneuver their stories from a manuscript to a product in the marketplace.

Writing conferences big and small can help writers at any stage in their careers. But how do you pick the conference that’s right for you (and your budget)? Border Crimes members Ann Friedman, Jack Kline, and Joyce Brown will talk about the writing conferences they recently attended and how they benefited. Border Crimes member Lisa Harkrader will moderate.

Join us on November 5 at 11 a.m. for this program, which is free and open to the public! This meeting will be held at the Antioch Branch of the Johnson County Library, 8700 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam, Kansas.
